How Gold Star Families can add their loved one to the video
Gold Star Families Memorial Monument
The Connecticut Gold Star Families Memorial Monument Committee is creating the “Fallen Heroes Memorial Video”. A QR Code link will be on a 36" x 24" Fiberglass Embedment sign that will be put at the Gold Star Families Memorial Monument at the Berlin Veterans Memorial Park. There will also be a YouTube link on the Connecticut Department of Veterans Affairs and the Berlin Veterans Commission websites.
Every Connecticut Resident (Past or Present) Immediate Family and Relatives of a Service Member who lost their life while serving (Active Duty, Reserve, National Guard) no matter how they died, including a M-day and TPU death, will be Honored and Remembered.
The committee is looking for these Families and Relatives to provide photos, military history and/or DD 214, of any family member, past or present, who has lost his or her life while serving in the military, so we can honor them on the Fallen Heroes Video.
We would like to have 1 or 2 photos, Full Name, Dates and Branch of Service, Rank, MOS (What they did in the Service) and possible conflicts or where they have served.
If you need to have photos scanned, along with their military history, please contact Peter Galgano at petergalgano@comcast.net or call 860-604-7258
If you have photos and military history that are already scanned, they can be emailed directly to Peter Galgano at petergalgano@comcast.net.
If you have further questions, please email Peter Galgano - petergalgano@comcast.net or Helen Keiser-Pedersen - hkeiserpedersen@yahoo.com or Carol Connolly - connolly.carol@yahoo.com

The Gold Star Families Memorial Monument is two sided. The front specifically honors Gold Star Families with the statement, “A Tribute to Gold Star Families and Relatives Who Sacrificed a Loved One for Our Freedom”. The reverse of the monument shows the pillars and representative images for each. And, within the monument there is an open silhouette that represents the missing family member surrounded by the pillars and the legacy they left behind.
